Sony Research India (SRI) is offering outstanding career opportunities around frontline technologies such as AI and data analytics.
Key responsibility:
- You will collaborate with research scientists and other team members on fundamental development activities, engaging in language model training and development tasks for Neural Machine Translation (NMT) projects, particularly for Southeast Asian language translation (Vietnamese, Malay, Bahasa, Thai, Filipino, etc.). Additionally, you will contribute to publication-oriented research activities, including Large Language Model (LLM)-based machine translation, synthetic data generation, and other emerging fields in LLM research.
Work Location:
- Remote
Duration of the paid internship:
- The paid internship will be for 6 months starting October first week of 2024
- 9:00 to 18:00 (Monday to Friday)
Education:
- Ph.D. or Master from Computer Science background or bachelor with hands-on experience on Natural Language Processing (NLP), LLMs and Python.
Must Have Skills:
- Strong software development skills
- Familiar with deep learning/machine learning frameworks, such as Pytorch, HuggingFace Hub, Scikit-Learn, etc.
- Clear English communication (oral + written)
- Decent knowledge on the state-of-the-art of NLP, NMT, LLM, and Generative AI
Good to have skills:
- Passionate about solving hard technical problems through analytical, critical, and creative thinking
- Prior experience in language model development for Southeast Asian languages
- Ability to speak one of the major languages in the Southeast Asian area is preferred but not mandatory.
- Good publication records
