Job Description: As an Associate Software Engineer, you will collaborate with Development, Product Management, and Cloud Operations teams, contributing from design to product/feature release. Your role within the Engineering team involves functional, system/solution, and integration testing of various features and solutions within the Zscaler cloud.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development lifecycle, spanning design to product release.
- Conduct functional, system/solution, and integration testing for Zscaler cloud features.
- Create automation frameworks and tools to automate test cases for core data path features and review team members' automation development.
- Enhance automation coverage and infrastructure to elevate testing quality and efficiency.
- Understand requirements, formulate comprehensive test plans, execute functional and automated test cases, investigate software issues, identify root causes, and articulate defects clearly.
- Deliver a high-quality, robust product within a fast-paced environment.
- Reproduce complex customer and production-related issues to identify root causes, collaborate with the development team to rectify issues, and verify fixes.
Qualifications:
- Graduate or Masters in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- 0-2 years of experience as a Software Engineer in networking and security-related fields.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in programming using Java, Python, or other programming languages.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting aptitude.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Sound understanding of Computer Science fundamentals.
- Proficient in TCP/IP stack, SSL, HTTP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Knowledgeable about networking fundamentals (ICMP/UDP/TCP/IP, L3 to L7), proxies, and load balancers.
- Hands-on experience with VPN clients and GRE/IPSec Tunnels is advantageous.
- Self-driven, proactive, task-oriented, and goal-focused.
- Ability to collaborate with remote teams, manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with system load and performance testing is a plus.
- Desirable experience in setting up network topologies and test beds in a Virtualization environment.
